My Name is Krantz Mwantepele, Founder and C.E.O of KONCEPT and Managing Director of Rogech Animation & Visual Effects based in Tanzania in East Africa. I’m also a Serial Entrepreneur. Most recently I’ve started several start-up companies in the media and communication field, all under the umbrella of my integrated marketing agency KONCEPT, which basically funnels our funds to cover all of our projects. That’s pretty much for me. I have experience in being an entrepreneur in tech start-ups since 2012. I am a Marketer by education, an entrepreneur by profession and a blogger by passion.

Moreover, I’m continually expanding skills, exploring new ideas, and seeking new challenges. As far as my working experience is concerned, I have been in some of the most important startup companies in Tanzania. I’m also an inspiration and motivation speaker.
Why are you so passionate about entrepreneurship and social media?
This is also a good time to be an entrepreneur. With the globalization of business and the uncertain economy, there are plenty of opportunities to evaluate and pursue via social media so we must use these platform to promote our products and services, and that’s where my passion lies.
Key aspects to being entrepreneurial are vision and opportunity. Being entrepreneurial allows a marketer to be more strategic in a project or in an organization. Although an entrepreneur is generally defined as an individual, a group or an organization can also be entrepreneurial. Just as an individual can add other disciplines to his/her technical base, groups can do the same. When individuals of different skills come together and collaborate to pursue a common goal, the team can be entrepreneurial.
What do you consider your greatest achievement so far?
My greatest achievement is seeing brands develop each day under our umbrella of Koncept. The numbers are increasing significantly. Also since opening Rogech Animations in 2014, we have grown our capabilities steadily – handling an expanded range of work, frequently working on multiple projects simultaneously, and managing entire animations work such as MITIKASI SHOW aired at CLOUDS TV also other commercial adverts such as Vodacom Mpawa Advert, Stanbic Bank Customer Principle Advert, UNICEF Tanzania and many others. Lastly, and by no means the least, this year we have been nominated in different entrepreneurship competitions that climaxed in being nominated as the 2Nd Runners-up on Start-upper of the year competition by Total.
Tell us about your childhood days.
Ah ! When I was a child the world seemed to be a place of joy and happiness to me. Whenever I cried somebody picked me up. I have always been interested in media and news reporting from my early stages. Throughout my ordinary and advanced level studies, I have been involved with the school magazine and the school newsletter.
In my school days I would go to the library, read on current issues and report it to my peers. Of course on the journey to starting my first blog called Mwanaharakati Mzalendo Blog. I drew inspiration from famous bloggers in Tanzania. And through this blog I won the trophy of best political in Tanzania blog awards in 2013 & 2014 and also I have been nominated in African Blog awards in 2015.
What do you like best about what you do?
Collaboration is at the core of everything we do, whether it is as directors, creative agencies or direct to brands. We like being challenged irrespective of broadcast platform as we are just as inventive with our workflow solutions as we are with our craft.
What’s your own definition of success, and do you believe you’ve achieved it yet?
Success is when you look back at yesterday and see that today you have advanced mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially or in whatever area of your life that defines who you are or what you stand for. Success is growth. The day you stop growing, you stop succeeding!
Yes absolutely I’m succeeding .
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
My vision is to build upon a reputation of being one of the most innovative marketing agencies in Tanzania and East Africa. We believe in doing our work in the most efficient possible way with robust and structured methodology, with gradual evolution from hard-work to smart-work culture to clients-focus. Also we look forward to being the premier partner of choice in animations and visual effects by providing the most cost-effective, efficient and reliable services.
What inspires you to do what you do every day?
What inspires me is the fact that I will be solving problems. Be it for Koncept or Rogech Animations, we get new and recurrent problems to solve every day, hence it inspires me.
What were you afraid of when you were starting out and how did you overcome them?
Finances and the right human capital were definitely of concern. When we wanted to start, we needed to build a team. My partners, Elia and Geoffrey decided we needed the right people to start with, which involved getting funding for at least 6 month to cater for salaries and other expenses. That was the most challenging part. We were optimistic, took it one month at a time. The whole team kept working hard to achieve our deliverables. We did really well starting up.
What is your typical day like?
My average day is spent working with my team, reading and engaging customers online.
Advice for young and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Hold on to your dreams. Success is what you define it to be. Don’t subscribe to anyone’s definition of success.
What do you think about Under35CEO.co?
I think it’s a good platform for an interesting team that is adding value to society to share their stories. A society without role models makes it hard for others behind to grow. Your platform serves to fill that void. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for what you are doing and I pray that as you started, you shall continue to grow in strength, capacity and most importantly, your reach and impact. Thank you and God bless.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud to have built our organization on the strong pillars of integrity, honesty, and self-respect.
Find your purpose and then work tirelessly to fulfill that purpose. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do what you are passionate about. Thank you.
